Itinerary

Our itinerary is liable to change at any point, but our general plan is listed below.

Needless to say, plans will become more specific as we get closer to a given part of our trip.

August 29:   Fly from Toronto to Bali

August 30- September 9:   We plan to spend time in Kuta, Padang Bai, the Gili Islands, and Ubud

September 10:   Fly from Bali to Palu, Sulawesi (another Indonesian island, just east of Borneo)

September 12- October 14:   Volunteer with the Central Sulawesi Board of Education, teaching classes, running after school sports programs, and doing some professional development with their teachers in the area of character education

October 15-27:   Travel with Patrick’s dad to Aceh (the north western tip of Indonesia) to visit the village where Patrick lived in 1996 with Canada World Youth.

October 28:   Fly from Medan, Indonesia to Singapore

October 29-30:   Visit with Cayleigh’s friends Amy and Phil and their son George in Singapore

October 31:   Fly from Singapore to Bangkok, Thailand

November 1-2:   Buy bikes in Bangkok and get ready for bike trip

November 3- December 16:   Cycle through Laos and Vietnam

December 17- Fly from Danang, Vietnam to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. See the sights of Ho Chi Minh for a day and a half.

December 19- Fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok.

December 20- 31: Travel with Cayleigh’s mum to Ko Pangan (beautiful Thai beach) for Christmas, and then up to Chang Mai to ride elephants and take a Thai coking class!

First few weeks of  January:  Train back down to Bangkok, ride bikes to Cambodia

February 2: Fly from Bangkok, Thailand to New Delhi, India

February 5-11: Tour Rajasthan and Agra

February 12: Fly from Delhi to Kochi (south India)

February 13-Mid March: Cycle around the south of India

Mid March:  Meet up with Cayleigh’s colleague Nimisha in Goa

Late March:   Visit Mumbai and Varanasi

April:   Volunteer at Ramana’s Garden Children’s Home in Rishikesh, India

May 4:   Fly from Delhi to Kathmandu, Nepal

May 10-22:  Trek to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal

May 24: Fly to Bahrain (Why not?!)

May 27:   Fly to Nairobi, Kenya

May 28-31:   Visit the family that Cayleigh lived with in Nairobi in 2006

May 31: Cayleigh’s Dad, Lona, and Levi arrive in Nairobi.

June 2-4:    Go on a safari in the Masai Mara

June and July:   Volunteer with Children of Hope Uganda

July 28- August 1:   London, England to see some of the summer Olympics (we have tickets for beach volleyball and synchronized diving!)

August 2, 2012:   Fly from London, England to Toronto!
